There's more to Sweden than snow

Usually I don't just provide a link and run as that seems cheap, but in this case, 20 Things You Need to Know Before Moving to Sweden is an awesome list which gives you just the tiniest hint of what it might be like to live in another country.

A tip 'o the keyboard to Mark M. for sending this along. Thanks Mark!

Update: That link appears to be down, but this identical version on the sight appears to be working.

  1. Pretty much all of it applies for the rest of Nordic countries. (Well, maybe apart the music festival thing..) At least in Finland, we have similar "jokamiehenoikeus" (every-man's rights), state-monopoly for liquor, shoe & coffee-policies etc.

I would add that you might want to try adjusting your diet within the Arctic hemisphere. There's not much local fruit production apart from greenhouses. But you can get a good variety of root-vegetables, fungi and berries even from the smaller stores.

  2. Thanks for the post, Mr. Poe. Most inspiring!
